RESCUED BY Leave No Paws Behind, Inc. <3

UPDATE! Sometimes things in life go awry, fosters back out, fosters are needed, we get maxed out, we worry about donations , fosters return dogs, we get burnt out AND then you see someone who comes along that is having a worse day then you 😩 You look into the sad and worriesome eyes of a very sick, young and gentle animal who can smell and sense sure death 😩 Meet Marley, through no fault of her own, she woke up this morning sick as can be, facing sure death in just 4 1/2 hours 😩 She has no interest and I am certain the reason being that everyone, just like us is full, stressed and worried about donations for her care 😩 Yes I am all of the above HOWEVER this Village has shown me time and time again that I am never alone and once I took a deep breathe and embraced that, I knew what I had to do ❤️ Instead of Marley having a date with death today she will soon be boarding the LNPB FREEDOM RIDE TO The Pet Doctors of Sherman Oaks, where we make every effort to give her the promise of many tomorrows and give her A New Leash On Life ❤️ One more I was reminded of why and how we continue to do what we do ❤️ Thank you for your continued love and support ❤️ tw, LNPB

Here is the plea we received from shelter: " Hello, we are in urgent need of rescue assistance for Marley (5221195-). Marley is a 3 year old female spayed GSD who was surrendered Tuesday for illness. We did bloodwork (found septicemia) and x-rays (disc is unreadable- pending new copy). Marley has lost 10 lbs. in 5 days and has significant nasal discharge and coughing. Lungs are congested as well. Marley likely has pneumonia and will need hospitalized care. Marley has until 3pm 10/5 (TODAY) to be rescued or she will be euthanized.

Assessment notes:
“09/23/18
This dog was at the front of the kennel when the runner approached. She was friendly but timid. She had a softly wagging tail, relaxed body and soft eyes. She sniffed the runner's hand and licked it, as she allowed the leash to be placed over her. She walked on leash lower to the ground and slow as she bypassed the dogs in kennels. During gate greetings, she had a friendly wag and loose body. She was the collared with no issues and allowed into the yard. Once inside yard, she greeted the other dogs and play bowed to initiate play. She was energetic and would play with the dogs, but would also use a play bow to peacefully get the dogs to leave her alone so that she could explore the environment. One of the male dogs took a liking to her and began following her around, she gave appropriate correction when he attempted mounting. She then roamed the yard, keeping to herself but remained friendly and social. She has a preferred playstyle of push/pull. She is okay for public adoption.”
