Dogs summed up in one word are AMAZING ❤️ Meet Loki my grandpup and my grandson’s Diabetic Alert Dog ( DAD ). Over the years I have watched my other grandpups, Major, now retired and Raven who sadly lost her battle with cancer, in action and was in absolute awe 😱
They truly are life savers, alerting to high and low BG levels and if you ignore them, they are relentless! We often hear “ we don’t deserve dogs” however I would have to argue that those of us who cherish, protect, appreciate and love them, most certainly do ❤️
Look at the smile on Loki when he saw Frank, it was as if he was saying “ hey dad, we did it ! “ Loki is a service dog, he is a “ working dog” who, when out in a public setting, wears a vest that says “ please do not pet, I am working”.
When Loki, Major and even Raven are home with the family or here at Nana’s, well let’s just say they get lots of loving while continuing to work ❤️ I remember one time Raven kept nudging my hand and I thought “ omg I must have diabetes” until my son laughed and told me “ she just wants pets from Nana” ❤️ They have distinct “alerts” when my grandson is high or low and again, to watch them in action is amazing ❤️
Raven hung on long enough to make sure Loki was ready to take over protecting her boy and I am sure her tail was wagging away as she was watching over them last night ❤️ You did a great job Raven caring for our Quin all those years and your presence was felt last night ❤️ I am sure you had a front row seat with Alley, Chauncy and Alfie cheering Quin and Loki on ❤️
Dogs are amazing, their only fault is they leave us too soon however they continue to guide and protect us and remain forever in our hearts ❤️ Thanks Raven for your many years of service and unconditional love, you are missed by all of us ❤️
I know you were right there by their side cheering them on , CONGRATULATIONS girl, you did great ❤️ tw, LNPB
