He has captured the hearts of all of us.

He has captured the hearts of all of us. Baby Boy Phoenix, while he still has a long way to go, continues to "rise above the ashes". We get asked "what happened to him" and to be honest, we really don't know what his story was. We know he was surrendered to the shelter as a "stray" and we had no idea that under all those mats was the most adorable little angel with a strong will to live! He is emaciated, has chronic Osteomylitis (bone infection) which has rendered his poor little right front paw useless. He will have to have it amputated however no surgery will be performed until we can get his health stabilized. His blood tests showed severe anemia and "bone marrow" issues so we are taking one day at a time with him on his road to recovery. He has scars and wounds all over which could possibly have come from being crammed in a wire cage all his little life (possibly puppy mill or breeding dog) or somewhere in his life he was hit by a car. He was suffering with severe starvation and is skin and bones HOWEVER in 2 short days he has gained 3/4 of a pound. This is all we know about his past although one thing is very clear, he was abused. Today however, that is all behind him and he is on the road to recovery where LNPB will be with him every step of the way. We are remaining cautiously optimistic that this sweet boy will make a full recovery. He has a long journey ahead of him however he is in the best of hands with our DVM's MaryAnn Hart and Mark Hohne and the entire amazing staff at East Valley Veterinary Clinic/Mark Hohne DVM and he has a Village of over 25,000 loving and caring human angels rooting him on! You can follow his journey on the road to the promise of a brighter tomorrow right here at LNPB on a daily basis. All paws continue to be raised in prayer for our Baby Boy Phoenix as he continues, with your help and prayers, to slowly rise above the ashes. <3 tw, LNPB
