He looks at my son with so much admiration, love and gratitude and the feeling is very mutual ❤️ Major was rescued from an abusive situation 9 1/2 years ago and began training to become a D.A.D certified service dog. He paid forward his gift of life and became a life saver to my grandson for all these years ❤️
Today he had to undergo emergency surgery for a ruptured spleen and in the blink of an eye, my sons whole world was turned upside down 😢 Major and Frank are inseparable, he is his best friend and today, as hard as it was, he had to be strong for his buddy.
Major came through his surgery like a champ and he is now at urgent overnight care as he continues to heal. I just got off the phone with my son after he dropped him off and I could barely understand him through all his tears. “ Mom I have held it together all day for Major and it just has hit me all now, I love that dog.”
As a mom, no matter how old your child is, you just want to make it all better, you want to take away all their pain, you want to hold them and reassure them everything is going to be ok, you just want to be there. Tonight, as he broke down in tears, he thanked me for being there and for helping him get through this and then told me “ I love you mom” ❤️
Tonight Major is resting comfortably and is in the best of hands, he is being watched over and protected by his beloved guardian angel Raven and my Alley and Chauncy. Tonight, like every single night since he was born, my son hopefully can rest peacefully knowing that, no matter what, this old mom is only a heart beat away, reminding him that everything is going to be ok. He is my son, my best friend, I am his proud and grateful mom, and oh how I love him ❤️ Now I will do what I do best, worry and pray because that’s what us moms do ❤️ tw, LNPB
