I am so excited to announce that Leia, the very first "New Leash On Life" rescue, has gone to her forever home today. Pulled from the Moreno Valley Shelter when she found herself there again after a family that had recently adopted her decided she wasn't a good fit with their kids. We rescued this beautiful girl knowing that multiple returns to a shelter often means a death sentence for a dog. She has spent the last 8 weeks with an amazing foster family (that includes a 2 and 4 year old child 😁) while we gave her time to understand she belongs, gave her training in the basic obedience commands so she could enter her new life as a good dog with manners, showered her with love, and introduced her to the amazing outdoors on trail runs and hikes. Now she will have a new family to call her very own, with 5 fenced in acres all to herself. Leia will be joining her new mom as she meets up with her hiking group each week! She hit the jackpot! I love you Leia, and I plan on visiting with you often! 💕❤️ If you would like to help us help more dogs like Leia, please go to www.leavenopawsbehind.org/donate. And over the next week or 2 we will be on the lookout for our next dog. We need fosters too! If you are in the Los Angeles/San Gabriel valley area, please email info@leavenopawsbehind.com
