Though it breaks my heart to see his sad little face, I know Alfie is exactly where he needs to be.

Though it breaks my heart to see his sad little face, I know Alfie is exactly where he needs to be. Alfie has pneumonia which is made more complicated due to his IMTP. If you recall a few weeks back Alfie had ZERO platelets, now they had to treat him with very high doses of steroids to suppress his immune system. In doing that, Alfie was left with a very weakened and compromised immune system, hence the pneumonia. Now they have to keep his immune system suppressed in order for his little body to continue to make platelets, they cannot let up, because if they do, his platelets crash again and that creates an even more severe medical crises then the pneumonia.

He is a little fighter and what happens, as it was explained to me, is he gets to feeling good for 2 or 3 days then his immune system gets overwhelmed and he crashes again. This has kicked his little butt however I am so aware of when he is not feeling right and I am on it immediately. Alfie is only 5 years old, he has a lot of life left in him, he wants to live and we want him to keep fighting. He has a whole Village pulling for him and hopefully he can get up and over this crisis.

He has captured the hearts of the amazing staff at TrueCare for pets and they have assured me he is in the best of hands. I sent them his " What's it all about Alfie " video for them to play for him. He is the kindest and sweetest little dog who has such a will to live and God willing, as long as he wants to keep going, we are going to keep on going with him ❤

Please, please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers and thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your kind and generous donations and all your thoughts and prayers to help us continue to help him ❤ We got this little man, just rest and please continue to fight, we can do this, paw in hand, one day at a time ❤ tw, LNPB
